We are one of several groups based in North East Lancashire.  Having over 300 members with new ones always made welcome. We organize weekend, weekday and evening walks in the Burnley & Pendle area.

The Ribble Valley, Bowland Fells and the Yorkshire Dales can also feature in our programme from time to time. The walks are varied in order to cater for all levels of ability.

If you are unsure of your own standard of walking or would like "to try us out" why not join us on a couple of trial walks? The current list of organized walks can also be found on this web site under walks programme. if you would like further information as to the most suitable walks to get you started, and details of how to join us, please contact our secretary.

We also arrange an interesting and varied programme of full day and long weekend coach trips to other parts of  Britain. We also put on social events that are always well attended and and popular with members and their families. If you are on your own, or a couple, give us a whirl to meet new friends and see parts of our countryside  that were previously unknown to you.

On a more serious side, in line with the ramblers policy, we keep an eye on our local footpaths and report any obstructions or damage to stiles, footbridges, walkways etc. In addition  to advising on footpath deviations and opposing any detrimental ones or closures.
The Ramblers is a charity working for walkers. Our charitable aims are to:

   * Promote Walking for everyone
   * Keep the countryside beautiful and guard against unsuitable development
   * Secure rights of responsible access to our countryside
   * Protect Britain's unique network of paths

You do not have to walk with a Group to join the Ramblers.
If you are a lover of the countryside and support the aims of the Ramblers then please do join today.

Members receive:
   * Walk Britain - our annual handbook
   * Walk - our quarterly magazine
   * Discretionary discounts in many outdoor stores, including 10% off at Millets, Blacks and Rohan. Local stores offering discounts include Ken Varey, Clitheroe and Whalley Warm and Dry.
