If you are a walker or have done some walking in the past you will have some idea of the equipment required. If you are new to rambling and are not sure of what to buy, we can offer advice based on experience. Clothing is, of course, largely a matter of personal choice. However the following items are considered by most people as essential requirements.
First, a stout pair of walking boots or shoes are suitable for rough ground. Second, a cagoule to keep out the wet, yes it does rain occasionally. Third, a rucksack that will hold a spot of lunch, a drink, and clothing that you may not be wearing at the beginning of the walk but may need later on.
Note:- Denim jeans may be hard wearing, but they have no thermal value and if they get wet, they can be tiresome at the least.
If you should require more advice about clothing or any other aspect of walking, please do contact us.
